The Garage

The full name of this blog post is "The Garage and Two Misc Shots from the Balcony" because... I started on the balcony to get some test shots while I waited for the neighborhood handyman to bounce before I traipsed by dressed like I was going to a formal event in my empty garage at 8 in the morning.

Loretta

This beautiful lady is not a model. I still can't believe it. She picked up so easily on posing rules, always kept her toes pointed, and was a bundle of positive energy the whole shoot. Truly a joy to shoot her.

These were photographed at the Arizona Grand Resort, and I hope to do another set with her indoor in my self portrait style.

New Year

I did not set resolutions for my new year. However, I did outline (extensively) a shoot that I wanted to have in my entirely empty, entirely white garage. It was a 6 page outline that included an extensive amount of set design. I had planned it for one of the first days of the new year and made sure I had nothing scheduled for the whole day so that I could commit my time and energy entirely to making art.

The fates decided that it wasn't going to happen. The garage door motor received water damage from our neighbor's apartment flooding, and there was no way for me to get in the garage.

Undeterred, I recreated a smaller scale on my balcony and proceeded to make some of my favorite images that I have ever taken.
